Culinary alum named executive chef at Tulsa's CTCA

For Chef John Oje, growing up in Hawaii meant food was so much more than just something you ate when you were hungry.

“Food is part of ohana, food is part of life and family,” said Oje, who grew up on Oahu and Kauai and learned about Hawaiian and Asian cooking from his Hawaiian-Chinese mother and grandmother.

But the abundance of culinary riches didn’t end there. In addition to his home education from his mother’s side of the family, his Irish-German father was a baker and pastry chef.

OSUIT seeks alumni award nominations

OSU Institute of Technology is seeking nominations for its annual Alumni Hall of Fame induction and reception.

Each year, Alumni Relations honors outstanding alumni from OSUIT with two separate awards.

The ceremony recognizes Distinguished Alumni— those who are established in their professions and whose career accomplishments have been outstanding— and Rising Star Alumni— those who have made significant or outstanding accomplishments within the first 10 years of graduation.
