Planning & Revision Process

Planning & Revision Process

  1. Meet with Dr. Dreyer concerning data. Please remember to use the agenda and worksheet for areas and items to consider, discuss, and address.
  2. Schedule time to consider the data, classroom observations, advisory meeting notes, and curriculum changes. This may be done individually, in smaller group, and in large groups. Be sure to include Dr. Dreyer as necessary.
  3. Complete a worksheet for each degree program based on the five-year plan. Do not; however, ignore all other areas. Take note of any other concerns. This will help you in later planning and revision cycles. Our goal is to improve the learning of our students; we do not want to ignore concerns. You will want to include any concerns as an addendum to the worksheet.
  4. Make sure that you are updating the assessment plan for each program.
  5. Be sure that you are making connections form each degree program to the core outcomes. Remember that the core outcomes are integral to our students’ overall learning. The core outcomes deal with the areas of communication, critical thinking, diversity and ethics, history and government, technology, and service learning.
  6. Each school should have an Assessment of Student Learning Folder. Within that folder, there should be folders representing each assessment cycle (academic year, 20192020 will be the year we are working on). In the Assessment Cycle Year folder, I recommend that you have a folder for each degree program. As a program, you will have your updated assessment plan for that academic year, five-year plan, worksheet, sample syllabi for each course that contains an assessment, and assessment toll information. This will help everyone within the program area and school with consistency.
