The High Voltage Line Technician Program at OSUIT equips students with the expertise
needed for careers in the high voltage industry, where they’ll maintain and repair
the vital infrastructure that powers our communities. This two-year program emphasizes
hands-on instruction with industry-standard equipment and fosters personalized faculty
and peer support to prepare students for the field.

OSUIT’s High Voltage Line Technician Program includes four paid internships, allowing
students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings and earn valuable income.
Average Pay: $16.00 per hour
Work Hours: Approximately 1,800 hours over four semesters
Overtime Opportunity: Many students earn additional income through overtime
Funding Support: Internship income can significantly offset educational costs
Note: Internships require a minimum GPA of 2.5, a current CDL license, and department approval.
