OSU Institute of Technology completed a major expansion of its on-campus disc golf course, extending it from nine to 18 holes and adding new recreational opportunities for both students and the community.
The new course, located near OSUIT’s 4th Street entrance, is scenic with challenging new features.
“We’ve definitely added some length to the course, making it a bit more challenging than before,” said Kamie Crawford, director of Student Life. “Several holes now wind through campus trails, offer scenic views of the campus pond, and feature mowed fairways surrounded by native grass. All of these features provide a few different course styles throughout the stretch of 18 holes.”
To celebrate, OSUIT’s Student Life office and the CSPN student club will host an open tournament on Saturday, Nov. 16, inviting the community to experience the enhanced course.

The course expansion was made possible by community support, with key contributions from donors like Susie Mauldin (in memory of Dr. Mark Allen), McCoys Building Supply, and Jennifer & Craig Grilliette (in honor of JT Hawkins). OSUIT’s Construction Management Program also offered hands-on assistance, installing tee pads, baskets, and markers, while Student Life’s Sandoval finalized the course layout.
“OSUIT Student Life encourages everyone on campus and in the community to come out, use the course, explore the campus trail system, and stay active,” said Crawford. “We hope this course will be enjoyed for years to come by all in the area. You can find the digital layout and scorecard on the PDGA website and UDisc app—feel free to check it out before you play and track your score along the way!”
