Ariel Adams, a student in the School of Information Technologies

Where are you from?

I'm originally from Yokosuka, Japan but I consider Moore, Oklahoma to be my hometown because I spent most of my life there.

What school and program are you enrolled in?

I am enrolled in the School of Information Technologies. I am studying cybersecurity & digital forensics, software development, and network infrastructure.

Why did you want to come to OSUIT?

I had several choices when I was a senior in high school but I ultimately decided to go to OSUIT instead because of the low cost, great education, and small classroom sizes.

What’s been the best thing about being a student here?

Working as a work-study student, I got to know how hard the faculty work to ensure the success of their students. They care about the student's health, grades, and future. It feels like everyone here at OSUIT is one giant family.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot is in the IT building. There is a conference room where I can do homework alone in absolute silence.

What would you tell someone who was thinking about attending OSUIT?

I would want them to consider what college option is best for their future. Students should attend a college that will provide them the best education possible at an affordable price. When I was in high school, most of my friends decided to attend larger universities for social aspects such as football games, fraternities, sororities, and so on. Although bigger universities offer more activities, don't let it distract you from your education because then you risk being in debt. In the end, college is about expanding your knowledge and brightening your future.
