SEPL 1223 | Introduction to Corrosion Control |
An introduction to various types of corrosion found in the pipeline industry. Students study different types of corrosion, the basics of cathodic protection, in-line inspections, coatings, and a variety of pipeline inspection techniques. Students also examine both the application and management of pipeline corrosion, as well as learn appropriate assessment and repair methods for pipeline corrosion. A cooperative agreement between industry and education which allows students to utilize and refine skills previously learned in their educational process. Students learn and apply their knowledge of economic principles in making decisions and choosing among alternatives. Project schedules are developed using both the bar method and the critical path method. This includes study of basis of equivalent worth, rate of return, payback analysis and estimating a project through completion. | |
