The President’s Cabinet is composed of administrative leaders at OSUIT appointed by the university president. The cabinet meets regularly to discuss and oversee all aspects of the university including academic services; student services; workforce and economic development; fiscal services; marketing and communications; technology services, and grants and fundraising.
The President’s Cabinet reflects a variety of voices with diverse backgrounds and administrative functions that provides counsel to the president and informs high-level decision making.
Because of this synergy of ideas and viewpoints, the community is better served through representative talent from across the institution.
Dr. Ina Agnew
Vice President, Student Services
Dr. Ina Agnew is responsible for helping students access a college education, which includes assisting with applying for admissions, identifying funding to pay for college, helping active duty military persons and veterans, and providing students with the opportunity to recreate and socialize through activities offered in the residence halls and through student life.
She has held previous positions as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Enrollment Management. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management and Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa; a Master of Science in Human Services from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky; and a Ph.D. in Occupational Education from OSU Stillwater. Agnew is Vice Grand Lady of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Friends of the Library for the Okmulgee Public Library.
Dean of Students
Devin DeBock is the Dean of Students at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology.
DeBock earned a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from Oklahoma State University-Stillwater; and a bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Allied Health and Sports Medicine from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Since 1999, he has served in several roles at OSUIT including Director of Student Life, Director of Residential Life, Wellness Coordinator, Director of Emergency Management and Chief Conduct Officer.
Before he came to OSUIT, DeBock worked at OSU Stillwater as a teaching graduate assistant in Health and Sports Medicine and at Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Residential Life Department.
Executive Director, Marketing & Communications
Shari Erwin manages the institutional branding and communication efforts of the Okmulgee campus.
Prior to joining OSU Institute of Technology, she worked for the University of Tulsa College of Law and was the web communications coordinator for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, supporting student recruitment efforts and image advertising campaigns through storytelling and online community engagement. Erwin spent more than a decade working in television and was first in the market in developing a multi-platform news sharing strategy for KLRT/KASN in Little Rock.
She holds a master’s degree in Technical and Professional Writing from UALR where she continues to serve as an adjunct instructor.
Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs
Prior to her role as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, Grammer served as Cooperative Alliance Coordinator and Assistant Registrar/Prior Learning Assessment & Articulation Services Coordinator at OSUIT.
She serves as a Federal Compliance Peer Reviewer on the Higher Learning Commission; chair of the President’s Retention Task Force; and several other higher education committees.
Grammer has also worked as an instructor at Meridian Technology Center as well as a laboratory technician and laboratory manager at the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab-OSU.
Grammer earned a master’s degree in Teaching, Learning and Leadership in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 2000 from Oklahoma State University-Stillwater; and she earned a certificate of mastery in Prior Learning Assessment from the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning in Chicago in 2014.
Associate Vice President, Technology Services
In his 14 years of working at OSUIT, Kevin Hulett has held multiple positions including Server/System Administrator, Manager of Distance Learning, Assistant Director, and Director of Technology Services prior to being named Associate Vice President of Technology Services.
Hulett recently completed his doctoral coursework in Leadership, with an emphasis in Information Security, at the University of the Cumberlands and expects to defend his dissertation within the year. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Technology from American College of Education and studied Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma State University and University of Tulsa before earning undergraduate degrees in Networking and Information Assurance and Forensics at OSUIT.
Prior to employment at OSUIT, Hulett worked in the music industry for over 20 years, exhibiting technology leadership as president/general manager of Concert Sound Productions Inc. before being recruited to Nashville to manage the concert tours of chart-topping Sony Music recording artists.
Dr. Scott Newman
Vice President, Academic Affairs
Dr. Scott Newman serves as Vice President of Academic Affairs. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of Academic Relations.
During his postsecondary career, Newman has held faculty and administrative positions, and published and presented on a diverse range of topics — including higher education innovation and leadership.
He is a peer reviewer for The Higher Learning Commission, has served as an Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Fellow and an American Council on Education Fellow, and been recognized as one of the nation’s top technology leaders by Computerworld.
Dr. Newman holds graduate degrees from The University of Oklahoma, the University of Oxford and Oklahoma State University (OSU), and is an alumnus of Leadership Oklahoma. He also served from 2001 to 2014 as the Founding Chair of the School of Creative & Information Technologies at OSU Institute of Technology.
Vice President, Fiscal Services
Jim Smith joined OSUIT in 2012 as the Vice President of Fiscal Services. His administrative supervision includes Accounting, Purchasing, Human Resources, Campus Police, Bursar, Motor Pool and Physical Plant.
Smith previously served as Fiscal Officer for Tulsa County; Finance Director for City of Sapulpa; and as Water and Sewer Services Director for the City of Fayetteville, AR.
Smith earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Arkansas; a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX; and a Bachelor of Arts from Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore. Smith is a Certified Public Accountant.
Associate Development Director, OSU Foundation
Mae Bartel is the Assistant Development Director for OSUIT at the OSU Foundation. She works to Identify, cultivate and solicit ongoing relationships with major gift prospects for the OSUIT campus; as well as coordinating closely with the President of OSUIT and other administrators in providing oversight of fundraising programs.
As a third generation OSU Alumnae, Mae holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. Before coming to OSU, Mae was formerly employed by the Tulsa Regional Chamber as interim Executive Director for Tulsa's Young Professionals. Mae is very active within the Tulsa community and is currently a member of Thrive Tulsa Class I through Leadership Tulsa.
Mae lives in Tulsa with her 5 year old daughter and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family.
