It’s nearly unprecedented in a town of this size, but a student can go from preschool all the way through a college bachelor degree and never have to leave town.
This is the fifth year Okmulgee Main Street and OSUIT have partnered together to paint the town orange, and there will be plenty of family-friendly fun with live music, entertainment for all ages, good food and the annual Glo Run 5K.
If we want to keep Okmulgee rising, we need to ensure our city officials have the funds they need to continue to stimulate new growth and maintain this momentum.
If we are to grow our population, I believe everyone in town needs to be ready, willing, and able to share the compelling story of Okmulgee and be able to explain the advantages of living in a small town.
