OSUIT recognizes that in order for students to be successful in the classroom, they need to be supported outside of the classroom and throughout all stages of their college career. Student Success provides that support and connects you to resources you may need to achieve your academic and personal goals.

Our Peer Mentor program exists to assist students coming into college by offering a current 2nd year student mentor to help offer resources, tutor, and offer general help with transitioning into the college lifestyle.

LASSO Center

The mission of the LASSO Center is to provide educational support to all students enrolled at OSUIT. Their primary goal is to create an open atmosphere of learning for students. They assist students in all General Studies academic disciplines by addressing their individual needs in a constructive environment. 

Tutoring is available Monday-Friday from 8am - 6pm. Staffed tutors are degreed full-time faculty at the institution, along with part-time work study student tutors.

Library

Student Success Librarian, Thalia King, offers help accessing the Library's online databases, finding trusted sources for research, formatting research papers, and more! Go to Library for more information. 

  • ACADEMICS- In addition to the Library and LASSO center, there are also various libguides and online resources available to aid in academics. To view instructional material on studying, time management, and note taking, visit Study Skills, Time Management, and Note Taking 
  • FOOD & CLOTHING- Pete's Pantry is our on-campus food and clothing pantry. We encourage students to use the Pantry as often as needed, as well as to apply for SNAP benefits if they are a full-time student. Assistance applying for SNAP is offered at Pete's Pantry as well.   • RENTAL & UTILITY ASSISTANCE- Deep Fork Community Action offers rental and utility assistance for those who qualify. You can call (918) 756-2826 or stop by Deep Fork at 223 W. 6th Street, Okmulgee, OK for more information. 
  • HEALTH SERVICES- Deep Fork Community Action offers RX assistance. Assistance with the cost of prescription medication through contact with drug manufacturers and the many special programs they offer to provide low income families or individuals with no-cost or low cost medications. You can call (918) 756-2826 or stop by Deep Fork at 223 W. 6th Street, Okmulgee, OK for more information. 

Student Transitional Development Xtreme 

Members of the Student Transitional Development Xtreme (STDX) student club work to assist first year students by serving as a resource to campus and the community, hosting events promoting student success, and assisting with the transition to OSUIT in order to develop the skills necessary for success in the college environment.

Peer Mentors

If you are a 2nd year student eligible for work study, you are qualified to be a Peer Mentor! If you enjoy facilitating helpful conversations and advising, you may be perfect for this position. This is a part-time paid position. Contact Abigail Rush for more details or to apply!
