- When will I receive my financial aid funds?
- Funds are disbursed by the Bursar’s Office (also in the Clack Center).
- Aid is not available on the first day of school.
- Pell Grants, SEOG, OTAG, and Direct Loans are credited to your account; any leftover is refunded via direct deposit or check (we recommend direct deposit).
- Refunds typically begin the third week of the semester.
- Single-term loans are split into two disbursements (second after ~30 days).
- OTAG and Oklahoma’s Promise funds are disbursed when received from OSRHE.
- Federal Work-Study paychecks are issued biweekly; first check takes ~6 weeks.
- What can financial aid be used for?
If you authorized OSUIT, aid may be used to pay all educational charges, including:
- Tuition/fees, room & board, books/supplies
- Tools, uniforms, bookstore items
- Parking, fines, late fees, prior-year charges
Remaining funds after account payment are refunded. You can cancel authorization at any time.
- Do grades affect my financial aid?
Yes. You must meet these Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards:
Hours GPA Completion Rate 1-30 (Freshman) 1.7 67% 31+ (Sophomore) 2.0 (2.5 for ETD/ITD) 67% - If you fall short, you’ll be placed on warning (still eligible).
- Fail during warning = suspension.
- Appeals and probation possible.
- Failing, incomplete, or withdrawn grades may hurt eligibility.
- What happens if I withdraw from school?
- If you withdraw during add/drop (typically week 2): 100% refund.
- If you withdraw after that: No refund, and you may owe funds back due to Return of Title IV rules.
- You must complete over 60% of the semester to keep all aid.
- What does it mean to be a first-time borrower?
- First disbursement delayed 30 days into the semester.
- Must complete:
- Entrance Counseling
- Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Both available at studentaid.gov.
- How long can I receive financial aid?
- Aid available for up to 150% of required credit hours/terms for your degree.
- Students exceeding limits may appeal.
- Pell Grants limited to 12 full-time semesters (600%).
- Students can receive aid for only one bachelor's degree at OSUIT.
- How does the Banner Portal display my financial aid?
- Log in to my.okstate.edu
- Awards are listed by Offered, Accepted, Disbursed
- Click Submit to accept
- Some aid may not appear until disbursed (esp. OK Promise/scholarships)
- Check your OSUIT email regularly for updates!
