What is Applied Industry Leadership?

The Bachelor of Technology in Applied Industry Leadership (BT-AIL) is an online, accelerated degree designed to prepare students for strategic leadership and management roles across industries. It equips learners with technical, leadership, and operational skills to manage emerging technologies, industry professionals, and business processes. Application-focused projects allow students to align coursework with career goals and industry demands.
Students customize their education by selecting one of three focus areas:
  • Strategic Business Leadership – Expertise in financial strategy, business operations, marketing, and leadership.
  • Data Analytics for Industry Professionals – Skills in data-driven decision-making, visualization, and ethical analytics leadership.
  • Health Management – Training in healthcare administration, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance.

    Opportunities for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)

    • Within this program, students may have the opportunity to earn PLA credit based on a review of their industry leadership experience. PLA eligibility is considered only through a student’s second semester in the BT AIL program, and students will receive multiple email messages with information and next steps during that time.
    • PLA credit is limited to the following courses: AIL 3233, AIL 3433, AIL 4133, and AIL 4333.
    • Credit awarded for prior work experiences in an earlier degree, such as an Associate in Applied Science (AAS), cannot be duplicated or reused to satisfy upper-division coursework in the Applied Industry Leadership program. Each PLA submission must demonstrate new, distinct evidence of leadership and industry practice that has not already been applied toward previously earned academic credit.
