Turn your interest in diesel technology into a high-demand career maintaining the trucks and commercial vehicles that keep America moving. Train in modern shop facilities with diesel engines, electronic diagnostics, air conditioning, powertrain systems and advanced electronics.

  • Build skills employers need: Progress from foundational skills to increasingly complex systems, just as you would on the job.
  • Graduate in about two years: Complete the focused, five-semester AAS program and get workforce-ready faster.
  • Get real experience before you graduate: Complete a full-semester internship with a sponsoring dealership or fleet operation.

Learn by Doing and Get Paid to Build Your Career.

Turn your interest in cars into a career with hands-on training, industry credentials and paid experience working alongside professional technicians. Alternate between OSUIT instruction and paid, on-site internships with sponsoring dealerships and repair facilities.

  • Work on real vehicles: Build skills in electrical diagnostics, engine performance, brakes, suspension, drivetrain, HVAC and advanced diagnostic systems.
  • Get industry-certified: Train through an ASE Education Foundation-accredited program and prepare for ASE and manufacturer-specific credentials.
  • Get experience before graduation: Graduate with an associate degree, industry credentials and substantial professional shop experience.
  • Build connections that lead to jobs: Many students are offered full-time positions by their sponsoring employers before they graduate.
