Dining Services runs the Cowboy Cafe in the Student Union, and catering services for the campus community.
The cafeteria includes a soup and salad bar, hot entrées, fresh vegetables and accompaniments, desserts, a grill for cooked-to-order hamburgers, deli sandwich counter, convenience foods, and a wide variety of beverages.
In addition to the dining facilities provided by OSU Institute of Technology in the Student Union, the Culinary Arts program offers gourmet dining as part of their classroom experience in the State Room and Tech Room. We also provide a convenience store in the commons area of the Miller-Kamm residence halls.
Cowboy Café COVID-19 Cleaning and Sanitation Protocol
In addition to our already strict cleaning procedures, which exceed CDC guidelines, we will continue to regularly disinfect all guest and team member touch points using our CDC-approved disinfectant.
This includes, but is not limited to, disinfecting guest tables after each use, as well as registers and counter tops, door handles and other common touch points and surfaces.
In addition, all Cowboy Café Staff will be required to wear a facemask and gloves while preparing and serving food as well as when interacting with our customers. Social distancing signage and floor stickers have also been placed in the serving area of the Cowboy Café and Campus Bookstore. Line control stanchions have been placed in the Cowboy Café separating the serving lines to the hot entrée line and grill line.
Hand sanitizer will be readily available at high-touch points throughout the Cowboy Cafe, and we have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection in all areas.
We take this responsibility very seriously and will continue to monitor expert recommendations and implement enhanced practices as necessary.
