The faculty of the Graphic Design Technology program are highly experienced designers, creatives, artists, who have worked for and with a varied clientele locally, regionally and nationally. The depth of their skills, their dedication, and the extent of their experience, help to prepare our students to enter into the extremely competitive arena of graphic design, branding, advertising, 3D modeling and other creative endeavors. It is the goal of our faculty to instill the passion, desire and dedication it will take to be the next generation of outstanding, working creatives!

Christian Bradley

Christian Bradley serves as dean of the School of Creative & Information Technologies at OSU Institute of Technology.

Before coming to OSUIT in 2019, Bradley served as the institutional director of Media Arts for The Art Institute’s College of Creative Art and Design. Bradley was also an academic director, program chair and full-time teacher at various times during his 16 years with the Art Institutes.

He has a B.A. in Art from Cal State Fullerton and an M.A. in Leadership from South University. He has worked at multimedia companies, that include Interplay, The Collective, and JVC, over the span of his professional career. Bradley also was the president of Cubicle Arts, a contracting company that provided digital and traditional art assets for multimedia companies.

Over the past 18 years, Bradley has focused on teaching others how to use 3D and digital art software in the classroom, through various publications and by developing online training series offered through TheGameInstitute.com, Lynda.com, and The Art Institutes Online.

Desirae Bach

Desirae Bach is an educator and graphic designer. She was born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, Canada and earned her bachelor's degree in graphic design in the also beautiful Napa Valley, California. She has experience teaching both Art and Graphic Design classes since 2019 and has been practicing graphic design since 2004. Her work has appeared in Target, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Jo-Ann Stores, and Michaels. She has also worked with Heinz, Otis Spunkmeyer, Compendium, Rosati's Pizza, and Zoe Organics. Desirae and her husband have enjoyed living in multiple states including Missouri, Utah, California, Indiana, and now Oklahoma. Arden deBrun

Arden de Brun is an award-winning brand designer and educator whose innovative research explores the future of typographic forms and symbology.  Mr. de Brun splits his time between running his design practice, de-brun.com, and serving as an adjunct lecturer for leading universities. Arden has 20 years of industry experience working with top agencies like Havas, Ogilvy, and Rockwell Group to create brand identities for a list of clients that include ADP, Wells Fargo, Coca-Cola, Michelin, and AT&T. Mr. de Brun has also served as a Senior Digital Content Designer for Good American and an Art Director for Forever 21. As an educator, Arden has 15 years of experience teaching graphic design courses. He has taught for the University of Southern California, California State University, Los Angeles, and served as an Academic Director for Graphic Design for The Art Institutes. Arden holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MFA in Graphic Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. His favorite things include aligning anchor points, riding BMX, and esports.

Darcy McNair

Darcy McNair is an advertising professional with 15 years of experience developing campaigns for some of the world’s largest brands, including Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Anheuser-Busch, Colgate, Covergirl, Walmart and Amazon. She has held Creative Director roles at some of the ad industry’s most-awarded agencies, including Saatchi & Saatchi X, Momentum Worldwide and WPP’s RedFuse. Darcy has a BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art & Design.

Tommie Lee Washington

Tommie Lee Washington is an award-winning graphic designer and an animator of motion graphics, who has been working in the design and broadcast industry for over 30 years. Mr. Washington holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Fine Arts. He later earned a Masters Degree in Motion Media from Savannah College of Art and Design. Mr. Washington worked as an Art Director for Regal Group, Inc. (An Infomercial Company) and was a Freelance Art Director for Alpha International Records in Philadelphia. Mr Washington has also worked as a freelance animator with clients, including the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Flyers. In 1994, Tommie was hired by ESPN as a Graphic Designer, where he began producing graphics for various ESPN Shows, such as RPM2Night and NFL Gameday. In 1996, He was selected to work on designing ESPNEWS. It was then that he took the initiative to learn 3D animation software on his own and became the first ESPN employee to create a 3D animation that aired on an ESPN network. Mr. Washington continued to be an innovator by creating the first virtual reality set for “Outside The Lines” and the first animated over-the-shoulder and full-screen graphics to air on an ESPN network. He was also instrumental in designing the first “Bottom Line”. (The scrolling artwork at the bottom of the ESPN show). He has played a significant role in the awarding of several Broadcast Design Association (BDA/Promax) awards to ESPN’s Creative Services Department and has received an Emmy award for his graphic design work on ESPN’s flagship broadcast “SportsCenter.” Tommie is currently a Coordinating Designer of Motion Graphics for ESPN, with most of his efforts being focused on design for the SEC/ESPN Network. Since 2015, Tommie has been an Adjunct Professor for Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and Liberty University, teaching various courses related to Graphic Design.

Joshua Dunbar

Joshua Dunbar holds an MFA and MA from Savannah College of Art and Design. Mr. Dunbar is a freelance illustrator and designer and has amassed a body of work that includes conceptual illustration, comics, storyboarding, and product design. His client list stretches from coast to coast and includes Walt Disney Imagineering of California and Horizon Group USA. 

Dave Brown

Dave Brown holds a BA in Art and Animation from the Academy of Art University. Mr. Brown has fourteen years of developing art and environmental assets for video games and multimedia. Mr. Brown has held positions as a Character Artist, Environmental Artist and is currently an Art Director at Sony Online Entertainment and Daybreak Games. Mr. Brown has art Directed some of the most successful online-based MMPOG in history, including Everquest, Freerealms and Star Wars galaxies. Mr. Brown has experience teaching 3D and Character art-based courses at the Art Institute of California, San Diego.

Kelly Henrikson

Kelly Hess comes to OSUIT with a long list of accomplishments and teaching experience. Ms. Hess has served as a course developer for Elevepro from 2014 to 2020 and as an online course developer and instructor for the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for 15 years. Ms. Hess has been an online instructor for Sanford Brown University from 2009 to 2020 and served as the primary instructional design r for the university's new online curriculum and course offerings. Ms. Hess has taught all manner of Graphic Design and Multimedia course content, including Web-based courses, UI/UX design, Entrepreneurship, design, and fundamental drawing courses. Some of the clients Ms. Hess has worked with to online design curriculum and new online course offerings include The Art Institute of Pittsburg (AiO), Davenport University, Mohave Community College, Mt. Sierra College, Antonelli College, South University, and Lansing College.

Nathan Pieratt

Nathan Pieratt is an award-winning designer and creative director. He has over 15 years of industry experience developing innovative strategies for Fortune 500 brands, such as Frito-Lays, Walmart, and AT&T, with large agencies like Group360, The Marketing Arm, and Epsilon. Currently, Nathan is a head of marketing at the start-up SWIPEBY (swipe.by) where he is responsible for the development and execution of design, creative strategy and full marketing mix. Mr.Pieratt was a group creative director at Epsilon, where he and his team developed a data-driven creative strategy for AT&T Business, with a focus on email, direct mail and display. Mr. Pieratt currently consults on creative execution and big ideas for brands like Arby's, Snickers, Mountain Dew, Doritos, and State Farm. For almost two decades, Mr. Pieratt has developed and taught design and marketing courses in higher education for a range of institutions, including The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and graduate-level courses for The University of West Virginia's integrated marketing program. Nathan holds an MFA in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design and an M.S. in integrated marketing from the University of West Virginia.  Mr. Pieratt enjoys a good book, cooking, and is a huge college football fan. Jessica Moore

Jessica Moore is an artist and graphic designer with 20 years experience and holds an MFA in Integrated Design from the University of Baltimore. Ms. Moore has worked for professional services firms as an in-house graphic designer crafting messaging in a range of media, including print, web, video, and animation, for corporate clients. Ms. Moore served as President for AIGA Colorado, the professional association for design, from 2015-2017. Ms. Moore has taught graphic design and foundations courses at schools local to both Denver and Baltimore since 2002 and has presented topics on the intersection of business and art/design around the country to AIGA Chapters and student groups. Ms. Moore's current body of work bridges digital and analog to construct laser-cut wood scenes integrating mixed-media objects and needlework to recreate landscapes that inspire her throughout the Rocky Mountain West.

 

Tammy Vaz

Tammy Vaz holds an MFA degree from Massachusetts College of Art and Design., Concentration in Information and Graphic Design, and a B.A. degree from Salve Regina University in Fine Arts (Concentration in Graphic Design).  Ms. Vaz has 21 years of college-level teaching experience, including college-level administrative experience. Ms. Vaz worked as a graphic designer for 29 years, where she worked with clients at the American Heart Association. Ms. Vaz has worked at high profile employers including Arthur D. Little and the U.S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center. Ms. Vaz has taught at: Gateway Community College,  Middlesex Community College, Paier College of Art, The University of New Haven, Gibbs College, Becker College and the Worcester Art Museum. Ms. Vaz is a former Dean of the College at Paier College of Art, Inc in Hamden, CT. Ms. Vaz has worked closely with accreditation procedures and compliance through ACCSC and the State of Connecticut. Ms. Vaz was also the Department Head of General Education Studies and Professor of Graphic Design at Paier College of Art.
