Joseph Boatner

Joey Boatner graduated from the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at OSUIT in 2004.  He then went to work for Air Assurance as an HVAC service technician. In 2007, he returned back to OSUIT but as an HVAC technician for Physical Plant Services. By 2012, he made a full circle, returning to the OSUIT ACR Department as an instructor.

Boatner is a native of Okmulgee County.  He graduated from Wilson High School and Green Country Technology Center before attending OSUIT’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program.  Boatner is married and has one daughter and one son.  His hobbies are deer hunting and bass fishing.  

 


Matthew Davis

Matthew Davis is a 1992 graduate of the Bill Willis Skill Center located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he earned his competency certificate in Heating and Air Conditioning. He won a scholarship to attend OSUIT in fall 1992. He worked for Mike Johnson of Johnson Refrigeration during summer 1992. Johnson was an alumni of OSUIT and encouraged Davis to pursue his education.

Davis earned his Associate in Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology in 1994. He then went to work at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He started out as a Refrigeration Mechanic 1 and eventually became the Refrigeration Mechanic 2, which was the foreman’s position over the ACR crew. While working at NSU, he tested and obtained his Oklahoma State Mechanical Journeyman’s license. Davis also started taking evening classes at NSU in 1996 and earned his Bachelor of Science in fall 2000.

Davis became an instructor at OSUIT in May 2001. He decided to pursue a Master of Science from NSU while working at OSUIT and earned that degree in summer 2015. He is on his 18th year of teaching. Davis has also serves as the ACR club advisor, which he has done for the past 17 years.


Boyd King

Boyd King graduated from the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology program at OSUIT in December 1996.  He then went to work for Donohue Commercial Service, servicing large HVAC equipment, until being hired at OSUIT as the Senior HVAC Technician in 1998.  After 8 years of service in Physical Plant Services, he was hired into the ACR program in June 2006 as an instructor.  King was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2011 by the national publication HVAC NEWS and was also recognized as the OSUIT Outstanding Faculty for 2018.  King currently holds his Oklahoma State Mechanical Unlimited Journeyman’s license and is an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer.  King feels that it is his passion and calling to be able to teach a trade that has been so good to him and his family.


Chris Lamm

Chris Lamm is an Okmulgee native having graduated from Okmulgee High School in the late 1990s. He currently holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northeastern State University, two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, a CareerTech Certificate, and is pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering. He became an ACR faculty member in January 2017.  Lamm has performed commercial and residential HVAC/R service and installation over the past 10+ years.
