Hector Garrido Guevara
Hector Garrido Guevara began his career with OSUIT in 2016. Garrido teaches all Komatsu
courses.
Prior to working at OSUIT, Garrido spent ten years at Road Machinery CO SA de CV in
Mexico. He held several positions, such as a reliability engineer, technician and
operational instructor certified on Komatsu electric drive mining trucks. Garrido
provided product support for clients, failure investigation, maintenance improvements,
developed maintenance and condition monitoring programs and was the lead for the introduction
program of new Komatsu mining truck model performing hauling studies. He also monitored
performance of cycle times, fuel consumption, reliability, availability and operational
costs for Komatsu and competitor fleets.
Garrido, born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, began his education at a technical high school
with a major in electronics. He graduated from Universidad Politécnica de Aguascalientes
(UPA) with a bachelor’s in science in Mechatronic Engineering. He is also a Komatsu
certified instructor through Komatsu-Cummins Chile. Through his employment at Road
Machinery, Garrido was able to travel to several locations, such as South America,
Germany and North America.
