Students may test three times on each component unless receiving tutoring from the LASSO Center.

Online Testing

  • Do you have a laptop or desktop with video/audio capabilities? If so, then you may be eligible for online testing (Zoom) in your own home.
  • Times are limited throughout the day
  • Contact the Assessment Center for more info

Reading Comprehension

  • Score of 250 or above indicates entry-level proficiency
  • Student may proceed with enrollment based on the outcome of the remaining assessments
  • Score of 249 or below indicates the need for further development in the area
  • Student must enroll in READ 0143 Reading Fundamentals

Writing

  • Score of 250 or above OR a score of 5 on the WritePlacer
  • Student may enroll in ENGL 1033-Technical Writing or ENGL 1113 Freshman Composition 1
  • Score of 237 - 249 or 3-4 on WritePlacer indicates the need for further development in the area and will be placed using the Corequisite Model
  • Student will enroll in ENGL 1033 - Technical Writing or ENGL 1113 Freshman Composition 1 PLUS the required 2-hour strategies course
  • Score of 200 - 236 or 1-2 on WritePlacer indicates the need for further development in the area
  • Student must enroll in ENGL 0143 English Fundamentals

**Writing and Writeplace exam scores are evaluated independently; student will qualify for course placement based upon highest placement method

Arithmetic

  • Score of 250 or above indicates entry-level proficiency
  • Student may enroll in MATH 2003 Business Math
  • Score of 237 - 249 indicates the need for further development in the area and will be placed using the Corequisite Model
  • Student will enroll in MATH 2003 Business Mathematics PLUS the required 2-hour strategies course
  • Score of 200 - 236 indicates the need for further development in the area
  • Student must enroll in MATH 0143 Math Fundamentals

College Algebra

  • QAS Score of 250 or above indicates entry-level proficiency
  • Student may enroll in MATH 1513 College Algebra
  • Score of 237 - 249 indicates need for further development in the area and will be placed using the Corequisite Model
  • Student will enroll in MATH 1513 - College Algebra PLUS the required 2-hour strategies course
  • Score of 200 - 236 indicates the need for further development in the area
  • Student must enroll in MATH 0153 Algebra Fundamentals

Science

  • Student must meet entry-level proficiency scores for both Reading (250) and College Algebra (250).
