IT Technician

The Tulsa City-County Library IT Technician serves as the primary point of contact for end users seeking technical support within the Tulsa City‑County Library’s computing environment. The full time IT Technician is based at Central Library with some travel required and is responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading PC hardware, software, equipment, and peripherals to ensure optimal system performance. The IT Technician also troubleshoots issues—in person, by phone, via email, or through remote support tools—and provides timely, accurate, and customer‑focused assistance to end users as needed.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, web submissions, and/or e-mails regarding IT problems.
  • Logs all incidents into the ITSM incident management system and accurately document resolution;
  • Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed;
  • Keep all hardware and software updated with current versions;
  •  Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring helpdesk operations; • Escalates to appropriate vendors and works with contacts to resolve issues including coordination and communication with customers and other IT staff;
  • Updates documentation and knowledge base articles in coordination with management to ensure up to date information;
  • Actively supports TCCL’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts, and the Library’s Be All In culture;
  • Performs other duties as instructed and assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware, software, configurations and data communications protocol required; 
  • Hands on hardware troubleshooting experience;
  • Exceptional analytical and diagnostic capacity;
  • Capacity to learn library’s automated online system required;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Must work well in a team environment;

Schedule: 40hr. / week

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm;

One evening per week 12pm - 9pm;

Every fifth weekend rotation Saturday 8am - 5pm and Sunday 1pm - 5pm;

Physical Activity & Environmental Conditions

Work routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as equipment, boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on a routine basis, and/or standing for long periods of time and/or frequently requires stooping and bending.

 

There are no major sources of discomfort; work is essentially conducted in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.

General Purpose:

Under the general supervision of the City Engineer and performs routine and complex technical engineering related work for environmental, water, sewer, street, and other public works projects and programs. Assists an Engineer in application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology.

Essential Functions:

  • Drafts detailed dimensional drawings such as those needed for street, water, sewer, drainage, and other utility plans, systems and projects.
  • Reviews project specifications and confers with City Engineer concerning assistance required such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, evaluation of field conditions, design changes, and reports.
  • Observes material testing and analysis.
  • Drafts and calculates field notes to document quantities, alignment, grade and locations according to project plans or to document monthly and final progress estimates.
  • Surveys project sites to obtain and analyze topographical details of sites.
  • Writes legal descriptions for dedications, annexations, local improvement districts, easements or condemnations.
  • Researches records, maps and other data to obtain such typical engineering data such as location of sewer stubs, water mains, hydrants, easements and special property assessments.
  • Calculates dimensions, profile specifications, and quantities of materials such as pipe, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Inspects construction site to determine conformance of site to design specifications.
  • Assists City Engineer to ensure that construction and repair of transportation, water or wastewater systems meet control requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation of sanitary sewer, water, storm drainage, and street system maps, data bases, and comprehensive plans.
  • Assists in the maintenance of engineering and infrastructure records.Prepares and drafts as-built plans for street, water, sewer or light systems.
  • Assists in the evaluation of transportation and traffic impacts of development proposals, permits, plats, etc.
  • Assists the City Engineer in preparing traffic, utility and other studies and reports.
  • Assists in intersection signal and channelization design.
  • Performs a variety of office related functions, including preparing correspondence, maps, presentation materials, reproducing field notes, printing materials, answering phones and responding to inquiries from contractors, developers, property owners, staff and the general public.
  • Serves as a drafter, by making final sketch of proposed drawings, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and relation of various parts to whole structure or project; making any adjustments or changes necessary or desired; drawing charts for representation of statistical data; drawing finished designs from sketches; using computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
  • Serves as infrastructure inspector as needed.
  • Assists with CCTV inspection of storm water and sanitary sewer infrastructure.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

​Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and methods as applicable to a municipal setting; some knowledge of applicable City policies, laws and regulations affecting division activities;
  • Abilities: Ability to prepare, organize and maintain engineering field and office data, reports and systems; ability to effectively communicate complex technical information, orally and in writing to contractors, developers, property owners, employees, consultants, other governmental agency representatives, City officials and the general public.
  • Skills: Proficient use of Civil 3D design software.  Considerable skill in arriving at cost estimates on complex projects; some skill in operating the listed tools and equipment; some skill in basic land and construction surveying.       

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a high school or GED, supplemented by two years of related technical or college training in drafting, Computer-Aided-Design (CAD), engineering technology, civil engineering or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of two years related experience OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma State driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
  • Must be insurable with City’s insurance carrier.

Tools and Equipment:

Personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database and computer-aided-design software, standard drafting tools, engineering calculator; motor vehicle, phone, mobile radio, surveying equipment.

Job Description: As a Project Engineer with our Telios Construction Management (TCM) team, you will deliver enhanced construction administration services, supporting all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) focused construction projects from planning to completion. This is a 24-month assignment supporting mission critical clients in Muskogee, OK.

 

The Project Engineer will work closely with our Project Manager and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, which shall include communicating, implementing project schedules, obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities, reviewing/responding to RFI’s, procuring, submitting, and managing the submittal process. The Project Engineer will act as the liaison between the owner, architect, general contractor, and our in-house MEP engineering team identifying critical issues that will impact performance, the quality or scope of work, ensuring all key project milestones and safety/quality standards are met.

 

Responsibilities

· Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources, in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure successful project execution

· Resource Management: Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project operations and adherence to project timelines

· Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and financials, track expenses, and provide regular reports to stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget constraints

· Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, issues, and changes, and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure project success

· Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control standards, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and project specifications

What You’ll Get to Do


• Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables. Strong understanding of low-voltage infrastructure and related services.
• Installation from outlets to distribution point, pulling cable, fire stopping, and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing, and labeling cables to industry and Client standards
• Perform work in renovations and new construction environments and implement cut-over.
