Fire up your grills and put on your team colors, it’s time for Bedlam on the OSU Institute of Technology campus.
OSUIT will host a Bedlam Tailgate Party on Saturday Dec. 6 in the Student Union parking lot on campus starting at noon. The football game between the OSU Cowboys and University of Oklahoma Sooners kicks off at 2:30 p.m. and will be projected on a big screen inside the Student Union.
Prospective Student Services, Residential Life and Student Life are coordinating the event.
“We want to hold a tailgate party because we currently don’t have an event of this nature on our campus,” said Sable Wise, special events coordinator. “We wanted to give out current students, prospective students, OSUIT faculty and staff and people from the Okmulgee community an opportunity to gather together for a fun, family friendly event that allows them to support their favorite Oklahoma football team with other fans.”
The free event is open to both the OSUIT campus community and Okmulgee community. Prospective students can get a free hot dog, and people can bring their own gas or propane grill to cook their own tailgate grub. Prizes will be given out throughout the event and participants are encouraged to bring their own tailgating games such as lawn darts, ladder golf and Cornhole.
The tailgate party is being held on the campus, so alcohol and tobacco are prohibited.
“We just want to get students and community football fans on our campus for a relaxing and fun football viewing experience,” Wise said. “Events like this are important to give our students, employees and members of the community a chance to get on our campus and interact with one another and have a fun time.”
