OSU Institute of Technology proudly announces the appointment of Chris Benge, OSUIT vice president of operations, to the Board of Directors of the Okmulgee Area Development Corporation. Benge's appointment underscores OSUIT's commitment to advancing economic development initiatives in Okmulgee County and across the state of Oklahoma.
“We are thrilled to have Chris Benge join the Okmulgee Area Development Corporation Board of Directors,” said Deb Marshall, OADC executive director. “He not only represents one of Okmulgee's greatest assets - OSUIT - but he brings a great deal of knowledge, energy, skills, vision and influence to our organization that focuses primarily on industrial development in the Okmulgee region. He is also a very interesting and overall great human!”
Benge brings a wealth of experience in governmental affairs, economic development, and strategic leadership to his new role on the OADC Board of Directors. In his capacity as VP of operations at OSUIT, Benge oversees the operations and provides strategic vision for the campus. His tenure in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, including serving as Speaker of the House, as well as his subsequent roles as Secretary of State and Secretary of Native American Affairs, uniquely position him to contribute to OADC's mission of promoting economic growth and community development in Okmulgee County.

Established in 1996, OADC serves as a pivotal catalyst for economic development in the Okmulgee County area. By coordinating with governmental entities at the local, state, and federal levels, as well as with educational institutions, financial institutions, and businesses, OADC facilitates strategic partnerships and streamlines development processes to promote sustainable growth. The organization's core objectives include retaining existing jobs, supporting business expansion, recruiting new industries, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting STEM education in Okmulgee County schools.
