OSU Institute of Technology’s Bachelor of Technology in Information Technologies - Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics is being recognized as one of the best online degree programs. “No. 2 is fantastic,” said Eileen Dewey, assistant dean of the School of Creative & Information Technologies. “Being one of the best is OSUIT’s goal for all programs. Having this ranking validates our curriculum and instructors are the best of the best. Creating a successful Cybersecurity program takes involvement from many facets including our advisory boards, administrators, faculty and staff.”

The BT in IT with an option in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics prepares students for the highly specialized work of protecting computers, computer systems and networks from various threats such as hackers, cyberterrorists, viruses and worms. The classes incorporate the current technology, software and tools used in the industry, providing OSUIT graduates with the skills and experience they’ll need for successful careers.

Dewey said the talent pool of industry experts is one of many qualities that makes OSUIT programs unique.

“We have many agencies involved with guiding us in the latest practices from the field,” she explained. “Having that information allows us to have all our curriculum and labs practice the latest trends and techniques which gives our students not only the required skills for the workforce but gives them an advantage over those competing for the same job.”

The ranking analyzed cost, flexibility, program requirements and completion time when conducting the rankings.
