Where are you from?

I am originally from The Land of Enchantment. Fellow readers are welcome to investigate this nickname further if interested. I can truthfully confess I am now officially from Owasso, Oklahoma.

What do you do here at OSUIT?

I'm the Director of International Students. My role at OSUIT is to serve non-immigrants through the process of inquiry, admission, visa acquisition, initial transportation, move-in, billing, program advisement, social interaction, internships, linkage to medical services and more. I also maintain institutional relationships with professional stakeholders domestic and abroad, assist with recruitment, support study abroad, maintain SEVP compliance, and work to promote a blend of diversity not bound by any particular identity-based movement.

Tell me a little about your experience with the university so far?

My time at OSUIT has positioned me to cross paths with amazing individuals from all walks of life. I would be lying if I told you every day was easy, but regardless of the level of challenge I face in any given situation, the professional and personal growth I have experienced on this campus has far surpassed what I originally imagined. The OSU System and OSUIT equally consist of remarkable professionals who have sharpened my skills.

What’s been the best thing about working here?

The best thing about employment at OSUIT is one’s ability to observe students’ successful outcomes when remaining committed to respective educational journeys.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

I find myself wandering around campus only to find I like it all.  There is so much variation from department to department and building to building that I never get tired of it.  This includes old and new structures, and obscure locations that many pass by and don’t even know exist.

What would you tell someone who was thinking about attending or working at OSUIT?

Do it, you won’t regret it.
