Where are you from?
Checotah, Oklahoma
What do you do here at OSUIT?
As veteran services coordinator, anything and everything I can for military veterans.
What is your experience and history with the university?
I started working here in 2011 as a recruiter and moved into the position of veteran service coordinator. I knew OSUIT existed but never knew much about it until a cousin of mine attended and obtained a degree in the School of Visual Communications. It was then that I learned of the high quality education a student can receive here.
What’s the best thing about working here?
My students. My students were willing to serve in the military and fight for my rights and freedoms if needed, and I am grateful to be able to in turn serve them now.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
The Veterans’ Lounge during the Student Veteran Association meetings on Wednesday afternoons. It always has me leaving work with a laugh and a smile.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about attending or working at OSUIT?
You will get out of it what you put into it
