Where are you from?
I am from Waianae, Hawaii, born and raised.
What school and program are you enrolled in?
I am enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology program at OSUIT.
Why did you want to come to OSUIT?
I came to OSUIT as a disabled Army veteran, sergeant first class, with a civilian career background in heavy diesel engines. But due to my disabilities, I can no longer do heavy laborious work so I decided to find a career that doesn't require me to do strenuous work. I found a degree plan here to help me so I can go back to work.
What’s been the best thing about being a student at OSUIT?
The best part about being a student at OSUIT is the amount of resources available to help me be successful once I leave this college and reenter the workforce. There are many opportunities to network, which is very important as far as future employment goes. The faculty is very helpful as well.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is Covelle Hall. It's where I go to take a break from training my mind, and take the time to train my body instead. It is my place to go to relax.
What would you tell someone who was thinking about attending OSUIT?
If you want to go to OSUIT— or any college— pursue a career in something you love to do or would love to do. Someone very smart told me if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.
