Each Spring and Fall, NSLS members are invited to attend a speaker series and engage in small groups with their peers on campus to create connections and accountability.
"NSLS empowers students with the crucial soft skills that complement their technical knowledge, ensuring they enter the workforce well-rounded and career-ready. Inducted students not only gain access to invaluable scholarships, job opportunities and success coaching but also earn well-deserved recognition at graduation for their remarkable achievements as NSLS members," shared Kyle Allen, Activities Coordinator and co-advisor for the OSUIT NSLS chapter.
Students are invited to join NSLS before each fall and spring trimester, with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and at least six credit hours on their transcript as requirements. NSLS members participate in a comprehensive 5-step leadership program during the trimester.
To join, eligible students can submit their nomination code online and pay a one-time $95 membership fee. Need-based waivers are available through the Dean of Students NSLS Waiver program.
NSLS is the only accredited honor society in the United States. The program is accredited by Cognia and recommended by the National College Credit Recommendation Service and the American Council on Education.
"Students that take advantage of enrollment in NSLS not only embark on a journey exploring their personalities, passions, and leadership abilities, but they will also find a gateway to a multitude of opportunities for developing and applying soft skills, which are essential for a successful career in the industry," shared Kamie Crawford, director of student life.
