OSU Institute of Technology is thrilled to announce the launch of a Telecommunications Advisory Board, an initiative to foster collaboration between OSUIT programs and industry partners to advance telecommunications education and bridge the digital divide.
"We're excited to kick off this initiative and work closely with industry partners to shape the future of telecommunications education," said Dinsmore. "The quarterly meetings will serve as opportunities for meaningful collaboration and dialogue, driving innovation and excellence in our programs."
The industry insights and input gained from the meetings, which are crucial for the success of the Telecommunications Advisory Board, will be instrumental in developing and expanding OSUIT telecommunications programs.
"With this initiative, OSUIT aims to achieve several key objectives that are directly aligned with the needs of the telecommunications industry. These include enhancing the accuracy and relevance of OSUIT's telecommunications programs, fostering increased interaction with industry partners, and ultimately establishing a cohesive network of stakeholders. This network will lead to various opportunities, including apprenticeships, internships, on-the-job training, curriculum development, and job placement, all of which are crucial for the growth and development of the industry," stated Brandon Dinsmore, program coordinator at OSUIT.
The advisory board will consist of prominent figures from leading companies in the telecommunications sector, like Jason Rudin, a board member and CEO of Clad. However, the meetings will be held virtually once a quarter to accommodate industry professionals near and far.
"I've been impressed by the work of OSUIT to advance new approaches for workforce development in broadband, especially at a critical time for the industry. There's a clear need for more skilled workers to build out our country's internet infrastructure, and OSUIT is at the forefront of expanding the talent pipeline. I'm happy to serve on their advisory board so industry representatives can ensure Oklahoma's next-generation workforce is well-prepared. At Clad, we spend a lot of time thinking about giving broadband construction folks the digital tools they need to succeed and get them the resources they need to build well. It's exciting to partner with OSUIT, which plays such a critical role in this process," shared Rudin.
