OSU Institute of Technology was recently identified as being the most affordable school in Oklahoma for a bachelor’s degree.
The top ranking out of 20 Oklahoma schools, as measured by Affordable Schools, at affordableschools.net, highlights that OSUIT is a top-value, high-rated college at an affordable price.
“Our mission at OSUIT includes providing a comprehensive, high-quality education to prepare students to become competitive and contributing members of society,” said Dr. Bill R. Path, OSUIT president. “This ranking helps solidify that students can receive a high-quality degree for an affordable price.”
The website was established to help students make smarter decisions regarding their choices in higher education. The website strives to help adults of all ages and backgrounds obtain a high-quality education while avoiding huge college costs and, in many cases, huge college debt, which can hover over their lives for years.
Affordableschools.net notes that the average cost of attendance is one of the most important factors that persons consider when choosing an education in Oklahoma. However, considering quality of education for the cost is also important.
Several factors were examined when ranking the schools. Each Oklahoma college was ranked on factors related to student success, size and affordability. Points are awarded in the categories of average cost of attendance, student-to-faculty ratio and graduation rate to make up the overall scoring of each college examined in Oklahoma.
“This recognition paired with our 92 percent job placement rate for graduates is what makes OSUIT unique,” said Dr. Path. “Some people have even referred to us as the university of jobs. We are proud of our reputation as a trend-setting institution of higher education.”
Other colleges within the OSU system were recognized. OSU Stillwater was ranked 11th and OSU Oklahoma City was listed at No. 17 on the list.
Affordablecolleges.net developed its ranking based on data received from the National Center for Education Statistics, an entity of the U.S. Department of Education.
