OSU Institute of Technology was recognized by BestColleges.com in its 2018 rankings of Oklahoma’s public universities and community colleges.
The national higher education website for prospective and current college students ranked OSUIT 15th in its overall Best Colleges in Oklahoma list and sixth in the Best Community Colleges in Oklahoma rankings.
This is the fifth year BestColleges.com has published its college rankings, which utilizes data from the National Center for Education Statistics to rank colleges and universities based on academic outcomes, affordability, and the availability of online learning opportunities.
OSUIT President Bill R. Path said garnering accolades from resources like BestColleges.com hopefully means potential students take a closer look at OSUIT and consider it an option when deciding where they want to invest in their education.
“What this recognition means is that OSUIT is meeting and exceeding its mission in educating and preparing our students for their futures in the workforce,” Path said. “Despite facing challenges, Oklahoma is home to world-class institutions of higher education and it’s an honor to be named among them.”
The rankings are aimed at informing and advising students toward colleges and universities that provide a quality education and a meaningful learning experience that’s also affordable.
The goal of BestColleges.com, which partners with HigherEducation.com, is to provide prospective students with connections to institutions based on their interests and educational goals.
“While it’s important to celebrate these honors, we must all continue to look for ways we can be better and do better for our students and our academic programs,” Path said. “I’m proud of our faculty and staff for their continued hard work in making OSUIT a leader in applied technology education, not only in Oklahoma but across the country. I’m also proud of our students who themselves work hard to graduate and then become the institution’s strongest advocates and ambassadors.”
