OSUIT Ranked One of the Best Online Colleges in Oklahoma

OSU Institute of Technology made the list of Best Online Colleges in Oklahoma from the website Affordable Colleges Online, which ranked the state’s online degree programs from its two-year and four-year institutions.

OSUIT was ranked 15th among Oklahoma’s four-year colleges and universities for the three online Bachelor of Technology programs it offers in Civil Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Technology and Information Technology.

“In this day and age, where all the world’s information can be found literally at our fingertips, colleges and universities have had to adapt to a world where technology and its convenience are the new norm,” said OSUIT President Bill R. Path. “Offering online Bachelor of Technology degree programs from OSU Institute of Technology means our students can study and learn on their own schedule.”

Affordable Colleges Online started in 2012 as a resource for students and parents who wanted to find the university or college that was the best fit and at the lowest cost.

According to Affordable Colleges Online, nearly 30 percent of household income is needed to pay for college in some states. And the average of student debt nationally has increased from $17,350 in 2000 to $23,000 today.

The Best Online Colleges rankings in each state looked at factors including tuition and fees; number of online degree programs offered; student to faculty ratio; graduation rates; and percentage of students receiving financial aid.

OSUIT, which was ranked along with other four-year universities including OSU-Stillwater and the University of Oklahoma, had a score of 93.96 due to its low cost and high percentage of students receiving some form of financial aid.

“Making the list of Affordable Colleges’ Best Online Colleges showcases what OSUIT already does best— offering a four-year education in only three years’ time with one of the lowest price tags in the country,” Path said. “It’s no surprise OSU Institute of Technology was ranked alongside some of Oklahoma’s finest four-year universities."
