OSU Institute of Technology has recently partnered with digital credential service Parchment to offer students and alumni an easier and more convenient way to request transcripts.
Alumni or current students can request an official transcript and have it sent directly to a university— if they are continuing their education— or to an employer if they are in the workforce.
The cost to have transcripts delivered digitally, which are available to download in about an hour, is $6. Mailed transcripts are $8.50 and arrive in five to 10 days. Current students, may pick up a transcript for free, if the transcript is ordered in the Grady Clack Building.
Transcripts for alumni who graduated before fall 1983 may take longer to process.
Crystal Bowles, OSUIT Registrar, said transcripts can now be requested and delivered in just a few clicks.
“Our students and alumni can request transcripts anytime and from anywhere, saving them time and effort,” Bowles said.
It also means greater efficiency in the Office of the Registrar.
As higher education continues to evolve and embrace new technology, electronic transcripts and online requests are becoming an industry standard, Bowles said, so it was time for OSUIT to offer those resources to alumni and students.
“Digitizing the transcript process is critical to streamlining operations in our office and enhancing the student experience,” she said. “Parchment has made the process so much easier. Online processing makes everything much faster.”
