Summer Fun for Students

As the heat of the summer approaches, OSU Institute of Technology’s Office of Student Life has planned a fun, outdoor, refreshing event for students.

Summer Bash, a fun, festival-style event for students will take place Tuesday, June 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. outdoors on the north lawn of Covelle Hall. The free-event is open to students, their families and all OSUIT employees. Students and employees will need to bring their student or faculty/staff ID to check in to the event.

“This event will feature food, games, entertainment and a chance to mingle right here on campus,” said Audrie Brennan, Student Life activities coordinator.

This year will feature more water games than in the past including a dunk tank, water slide, kiddie pool and soaker ball battle along with lawn games, snacks and refreshments.

“Not only does this event provide students a chance to enjoy themselves outside of their usual class work,” said Brennan, “this is a chance for student clubs to get involved in school events and provides an opportunity for us in Student Life to show our appreciation for our campus community.”

Brennan said they are many opportunities for students or employees to volunteer at this event.

“There is always room to help facilitate games, check-in attendee and assist with setup and/or tear-down,” she said. “Student clubs can earn participation points by volunteering, sponsoring an event or providing food and/or games.”
