Understanding Disability and Eligibility

A disability is defined as a physical or mental impairment substantially limiting one or more major life activities, or having a record of or being perceived as having such an impairment. If you identify with this definition, you're encouraged to reach out to our office. OSUIT complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (Title II) and Rehabilitation Act Section 504, demonstrating our commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

How to Request Academic Accommodations
To begin receiving accommodations, please follow these essential steps:
  1. Complete the "Request for Academic Accommodations" form each semester, specifying your academic needs.

  2. Submit current documentation (no older than three years) from a qualified professional, detailing the nature of your disability, diagnostic methods, and recommended assistance.

  3. Obtain your personalized Academic Accommodations Letter and deliver it directly to your faculty or relevant staff members.
