Prospective Student Request for Overnight Campus Stay

Welcome prospective students here in Residential Life we would like to try and assist you in the getting ready to be in a student here at OSUIT. With that in mind we try to offer overnight housing when we are able to when a student is coming from a long distance away to do testing.

We would like you to be aware of just a couple of things. We will try to offer as many prospective students spots when requested. If there is a time that space is not available when we receive a request we will inform the requesting party. We ask that you send in the request as soon as possible so that we can work with you on this. Requests are only review Monday thru Friday from 7:30am to 4:15 pm.

All prospective students are charged $10 per night for their stay. However, on stays of more than one night the last night will be free. We would like to take a moment to inform prospective students are not allowed to check in to there assigned spot earlier than 6pm on Sunday. Please note before 4pm on Friday of the same week as the prospective student arrival must have all items removed and key turned back into Residential Life. Student will pay for their stay at the Bursar Office and this office closes at 4:30 pm. Also, we do not allow prospective students stay over weekend between weekends.

Please note the rooms we provide are not fully furnished and we suggest prospective students bring the following:

  • Pillow
  • Sleeping bag or extra long twin sheets with blanket
  • Bathroom supplies (soap, shampoo, etc.)

If desired the following could be helpful for some.

  • Preferred electronic devices (Laptop, TV, etc). Also, if you bring a laptop you may not be able to access the University wireless and it is suggested that you bring a Ethernet cord to connect to the schools wall connection.
  • Ice chest or mini fridge if desired for chilled water, pop, etc. Note that Union's Cowboy Cafe is open 6:30am till 6:00pm and University Market is open till 10:00pm.
